On Thursday shadowtrain rolled into Albuquerque new mexico. We set up at a studio owned by a friend of gregg anaya named ysidro . It was the first time all the members of the shadowtrain band were actually all together in one place at the same time!
We had an intense 5 hour rehearsal in preparation for the upcoming music is medicine concert Saturday in Tinaja new Mexico. We had a massive funk jam, wrote some new ideas and tightened up some of the songs we’ve recorded from the album we’ve been working on.
We also made a late night call to monte smith who we will be collaborating with us in the film and record.
We encourage folks to research montes work and familiarise yourselves with him . His message and delivery is extremely powerful and is closely aligned with that of shadowtrain .
Today we plan on visiting San Felipe to interview an inter-tribal attorney that has a long history of dealing with profound native issues. Then it’s off to Acoma Pueblo, to check out a building to use as a community/music Center.
