ShadowTrain journey night 3

We had a magical day in the Navajo nation today after 2 days of being on the road. After spending a sleepless night in a campground in Gallup new Mexico wedged between the sante fe railroad tracks and the municipal airport, we headed out to window rock. We loaded our gear in at the Navajo museum where we met the president of the Navajo nation and jefferson lee, a traditional navajo leader who led a prayer.
We sat in on a drum circle run by kenny brown which was a beautiful and powerful experience . Then Gabe, vinny, donny and I presented the musical equipment that was donated by all our friends at ESP, Randall, Yamaha, zyldgian and tour supply to the music is medicine music school at the museum..
We then held group clinics with the Navajo kids. Vinny ran a drum clinic, Gabe and I ran a bass and guitar clinic and donny ran a keyboard clinic
Then we did a jam with the students on the amphitheater stage along with chucky Begay and Ponee stone
in typical shadowtrain style the beautiful majestic new Mexico sky opened and dumped an instance rainstorm which of course shut down the concert
We then got invited to a Navajo families ( barbara and her husband jeff) home and had a beautiful Navajo meal and had great conversation, many laughs and some political debate with about 20 of us..we watched the sunset , exchanged numbers ,said our good-byes and headed back to Gallup to spend another night with bellies full of food and hearts full of love..
